Yesterday I posted the bare background of my new abstract painting on canvas. Here, you will see my next step, which was to draw curved but irregular shapes in groups of colors across the canvas. I started with the darker reds on the bottom, working my up through the lighter reds, orange and yellow at the top:
Then I started to fill in these shapes, again beginning with the darker reds at the bottom, gradually moving through lighter reds and oranges toward the top:
This is still very much the background, and nothing more. Foreground to come soon!
