WILD FIG is celebrating after being named winner and product of the year in the Savouries & Accompaniments Category for their SEVILLE ORANGE AND MALT WHISKY MARMALADE at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2019.
Now in its 20th year, the Excellence Awards focusses on the standout products driving value and consumer choice in the market in line with the overarching Ambition 2030 strategy to double the value of the industry.
Hosted by restaurant critic, writer and broadcaster, Jay Rayner, the awards ceremony at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on Thursday 23rd May was attended by more than 800 people from across the industry and the wider community.
Justin Maule, chef and co-owner of Wild Fig, said:
"I am genuinely delighted to win this prestigious national award for our Seville Orange and Malt Whisky Marmalade. This was our first product using the outstanding Glengonye cask strength whisky and we have been really humbled by how well it has been received since its launch in 2015 - 2 GOLD medals at the World Marmalade Awards and 2 STARS at the Great Taste Award - this really is the icing on the cake and being judged by industry experts makes it all the more special."
The awards are organised by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) and headline sponsor Asda.
