The New York Knickerbockers, the NBA team of the city which never sleeps and one of the most prestigious franchises in the world, is ready to release a new project which pays homage to the Mecca of basketball, culture, and innovation. “The Knicks” offered fans with the NFT’s New York Forever series, with a strong roster of local artists. The NFT series contains only nine NFTs, and has a wide range of real-life perks.

9 NY Knicks NFTs in 24 hours
The first sale of the brand-new NFT series will take place on October 25, 2022. Rather than offering them to the open market, the New York Forever NFTs will be sold to three groups as part of a 24-hour auction. It will start at 7pm UTC. Meanwhile, one of the artists working on the project, Andre Vandenburg, shared a preview of his NFT, named “KnicksVerse”, on Twitter.

The second and third tranche sales are planned to follow shortly thereafter, at 20:00 UTC and 21:00 UTC, respectively. This series involves work by local digital artist “Freehand Profit”, who is working on Web 3.0 project FREEverse as well. Normally, the New York Forever digital Art NFTs feature representations of New York’s great sightseeing spots, like ‘The Statue of Liberty’ NFT, offered by the same Freehand Profit as part of the “Bear Market Special”.

NFT tickets are celebrating the new NBA season
In addition, each of the winners from the three auctions will have entry to real-life prizes, like tickets to the Madison Square Garden arena for the 2022-2023 NBA season, that just begun. Since the Knicks have missed a championship title for the last 49 years, the support generated by the series could be much needed. In addition, Coinbase plans to hold a “Knicks Kicks & Cocktails Gala Party” in New York in February 2023, where guests can be a plus one.
Finally, the release of the New York Knickerbockers’s NFT series follows a similar NFT project recently launched by the Chicago Bulls.
