New Title for Episode 4.10 – Burning Down The HouseBased on today’s spoilers that gave us episode synopsis for episodes 4.06 to 4.10, we now know that the title has been changed for episode 4.10 from “The World’s A Mess, It’s In My Kiss” to “Burning Down the House”.

When I heard this new title, I knew immediately that they MUST mean my all time favorite Talking Heads song, “Burning Down The House.”  Well, actually “Once In A Lifetime” is my all time favorite, but Burning Down the House is a close second. I was a huge Talking Heads fan in the 1980′s and continue to love them. Below is the original version done in concert by the Talking Heads and then, a video that shows a newer version by Tom Jones & The Cardigans done in 2008. If this guess at the song is right, I’m sending a big thank you Gary Calamar!

Between their first album in 1977 and their last in 1988, Talking Heads became one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the ’80s, while managing to earn several pop hits. While some of their music can seem too self-consciously experimental, clever, and intellectual for its own good, at their best Talking Heads represent everything good about art-school punks, which, of course I am.

But then, True Blood could be using this version of the Talking Head’s hit by Tom Jones & The Cardigans which has a more updated sound. The collaboration between Tom Jones and the Cardigans was released on the Cardigans’ “Best Of” (2008) album.

Song lyrics:

Fightin’ fire with fire

Watch out you might get what you’re after
Cool babies strange but not a stranger
I’m an ordinary guy
Burning down the house

Hold tight
Wait till the party’s over
Hold tight
We’re in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house

Here’s your ticket pack your bags
Time for jumpin’ overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far
Maybe you know where you are
Fightin’ fire with fire

All wet hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Burning down the house

It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work baby what did you except
Gonna burst into flame

Fightin’ fire with fire
Fightin’ fire with fire
Burning down the house

My house’s
Out of the ordinary
That’s right
Don’t wanna to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house

Watch out you might get what you’re after
Cool babies strange but not a stranger
I’m an ordinary guy
Burning down the house

Three hundred six-ty five degrees
Burning down the house

Fightin’ fire with fire
Fightin’ fire with fire
Gonna burst into flame
Fightin’ fire with fire
Fightin’ fire with fire
Gonna burst into flame
Burnin’ down the house
My house
Burnin’ down the house

No visible means of support and you have not seen nothin’ yet
Everything’s stuck together
I don’t know what you expect staring into your TV set
Fighting fire with fire

Burning down the house
Burning down the house
