The newly introduced Social Security Contribution Tax Bill is a way of putting the economic burden on the people, National People’s Power Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
The said the levy practically covers the entire economic system in the country, Dissanayake noted.
“People can hardly survive in the prevailing economic situation and the new tax will be an additional burden to them”, Dissanayake observed.
Dissanayake pointed out that those who created the economic crisis are not affected by its outcomes at all. Instead, the public have to bear the brunt, he said.
“The ones who created the economic crisis do not take any decision necessary to solve the matter,”he said.
