New Start
So its been a long break from blogging - but what can i say? its been a busy year, however im hoping to get back to it over the coming weeks and months, with many an exciting exhibition here in Paris as well new modelling projects :) Over the past year or so, ive been doing a lot more modelling than designing, which has been fun and is a different outlet for my creative energy. Of course i put together many of the looks i model but not been making collections. Ive also had a change of location, still near Paris and plan a new a new studio space which will be much more practical and efficient.
Its been a journey of self discovery and adventure, which i hope you will join me on!
As well as the change of location, I have had a shift in my career path at my day job in retail. I am now Personal shopper and stylist. Available on appointment, i help ladies get the most from their shopping trip and from fashion by helping them to think outside of the box and realizing their full style potential - I love this job! I hate all that Trinny and Susannah bull’ of putting people in a box and saying “here wear this” without any consideration of peoples personal body image issue and individuality. The best experiences i have had are with pregnant ladies or ladies of a certain size who just dont know what to do with their tummies. There are so many options out there but leggings and a baggy T-shirt is not one of them when im in the fitting room with you! Its been a blast and long may it continue!
Now that im getting my work/life balance back on track, i hope to do more sewing, in particular, exploring corsets and more complex dress patterns. Happy new year! - starting in june, LOL.
