Mary J. Blige received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and celebrated her 47th birthday on Thursday, and Friday she gave women all around the world a gift… An inspiring single titled Bounce Back 2.0.
The women’s empowerment song was released with the hashtag #TimesUp
The encouraging lyrics start off with Mary saying:
“Ladies, let me tell you something,” she sings. “We’ve come too far to lose / We’ll win this battle.”

Mary shared with the crowd during her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony that she started singing as a little girl, because it set her free from negativity.
When I was a little girl growing up in the projects, I just wanted to sing, because it set me free from the negativity that was happening outside our home. We lived in the projects, but we had love in our home,” Mary told the crowd.
