Mac DeMarco

This track is enigmatic in that its highly labellable. Yeah, I’m back making up words like it aint no thing. This could have been released in the 90s as Brit Pop or regular pop, last decade as alt-indie or mainstream indie or this decade as modern shoe gaze or indie-dance. It’s stupid.

If you want, you can hate this track because it has so many mainstream overtones, it’s easy listening, its hook is 100% bubblegum pop with fad brass and drone. It’s so catchy and unintrusive. I genuinely think this is masterful, a lot more work has gone into its creation than the lazy bluresque elements suggest. It may not be clear if I like this or not or think you should listen to it but yes, I think it’s swish as and you should peep it.
