If you’re not yet aware, the new album, magna carta holy grail, by Jay Z was just released. Although at first only to the first $1million Samsung customers, it is now widely available for everyones enjoyment.
To give you a quick recap, Jay Z had made an exclusive agreement with Samsung in effect to provide a ‘preview’ of sorts to Samsung customers. However, in reality, JayZ simply got a cool $5 million bucks for leaking his album prior to the official release date later this month. If you thought it, you’d be right, JayZ is one smart cookie who understand viral marketing…point is, he just got a nice big wad of cash for marketing his album… Well played.
