If you haven’t heard, I recently joined the La Dolce Vita contributing team! I’ll be writing a column every other Wednesday called “Design Under the Influence.” No, it’s not about drunk designing (although that could be interesting), but about ways in which modern designers and artists are influenced by past historical periods and trends. You’re intrigued, aren’t you? (Say yes!)
This week I’ll be discussing Philipe Starck’s Louis Ghost Chair, how it’s a modern interpretation of a Louis XVI chair, and what the heck a Louis XVI chair is….as compared to a Louis XIV and Louis XV chair. If nothing else, it’s a little bit of fun trivia you can drop at meetings and social gatherings and sound quite in-the-know!
