Beginning Easter weekend, New Birth under the leadership of Dr. Jamal Bryant are bailing non offenders out of jail in Georgia.
The Georgia mega church has raised $120,000 to provide bail for first-time, nonviolent offenders in four Georgia counties.
The “Bail Out” program was designed to give men and women a second chance, beginning Easter weekend.
The program targets DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Rockdale counties. It will also help with job readiness.
It began as a $40,000 local challenge within the congregation and quickly grew to $120,000 and a larger metro movement.
“Holy Saturday is when Jesus descended into HELL, Pastor Bryant wrote on Instagram. Today we are bailing out of prison those who are nonviolent offenders in 3 counties here in Georgia.”
He continued,
“We are opening college fund accounts for their children at citizens trust bank (black owned) to stop the cycle. Resurrection is in the air.”
