A lot of Asheville venues are offering new stand up comedy open mics in the next several weeks, making stand up comedy in Asheville almost a nightly occurrence. Here is the run down:
Mondays: Open
Tuesdays: Kava Comedy International Bingo Parlour and Open Mic @ Vanuatu Kava Bar 9:00 p.m.
Join us every Tuesday as we play several white-hot games of Bingo. $10 paid to each winner, free to play. First game of Bingo commences at 9pm. Tonight’s entertainment at the International Bingo Parlour will be open-mic standup comedy.
Vanuatu Kava Bar is now host to “The [2nd, maybe 3rd] Hottest Tuesday Night Bingo Game in Town (& comedy open mic).” It starts at 9pm, at which point the first-of-many hot, hot games of bingo will commence.Performers will enjoy a free shot of mouth-numbing kava and proximity to libations that will render the performance of comedy all but impossible.
Audience members and comedians will be given free bingo cards, and when that B-I-N-G-O hits, baby, the host is going to make it rain a single $10. There will be several games a night. Vanuatu Kava Bar is located downtown on Eagle Street on “The Block.” Off Biltmore Ave, turn onto Eagle St which is across Biltmore from Hannah Flanagan’s. Mic starts at 9pm. Free WiFi and all that. Wednesdays: Disclaimer Stand Up Lounge @ Dirty South Lounge 9:00 p.m.
Join us at Dirty South Lounge inside The Southern this (and every) Wednesday for Asheville’s longest-running comedy open mic madness, Disclaimer Stand-up Lounge. Comedy starts at 9pm. There is no cover. There are no promises (other than guaranteed Dave Chappelle-level comedy every single minute of every single set by every open mic comedian).
Performers will get 5-to-7 minutes of stage time (depending on number of performers) and audience members will enjoy hit-or-miss comedy and a big fat buzz. Anyone wishing to perform should sign up at 8:30 pm.
Thursdays: Stand Up Comedy Open Mic @ Tolliver’s Crossing Irish Pub 9:00 p.m.

This Thursday night comedy open mic will be occurring on Thursdays at Tollivers on weeks where there are not Thursday night PULP shows. Come on out and get some stage time!
Fridays: Stand Up Comedy Open Mic @ Bar of Soap 8:00 p.m.
This is a new comedy open mic and it kicks off on February 1st.
Saturdays: Open
Sundays: Sunday Night Comedy Open Mic @ Timo’s House 9:00 p.m.
Every Sunday, starting January 27th Your favorite, and not so favorite comedians will be coming on stage to delight/disgust you. Show starts at 9, sign ups start at 8.
