New Abstract Painting Stays Weird

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

Now that my new painting was filled with odd shapes and drips, I decided to emphasize that oddness by drawing outlines around the shapes.  I also drew more shapes and lines in the empty spaces.

When I was trying to write a fancy artist's statement once, I used the phrase, "foregrounding indeterminism" to describe such a thing.  Sounds good, doesn't it?

In my next painting session, I started painting in some of the spaces I'd drawn, using thinned-down orange, red, and brown.  I also filled in some spaces with bright aqua green.

It is beginning to look like a maze.
