New Abstract Drawing + Peace Box Revisited

Last night I gave my peace box art project to my daughter so she could bring it to work with her at Tompkins Cortland Community College, where she hopes to bring some peace to contentious situations that arise. But first we had a disagreement about whether or not the box should be opened.  She thought it definitely should be in order to let the peace out into the room.  I, on the other hand, saw it as an art object that shouldn't be violated by cutting the tape that seals it.

But my artist's take on the inviolability of an art object probably doesn't apply in this case.  After all, it is a PEACE project, and the art is a tool for promoting that peace.  Just as ephemeral art disappears eventually in order to make its point, this art object welcomes whatever will promote its purpose.  I haven't checked with the creator yet, though.  What do you think?
