Netflix ‘The Crown’ Receives Critics’ Choice Award Nominations

The Crown, on Netflix has been nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award.

The Crown, which has been trending on Netflix since Prince Harry announced his engagement to  Meghan Markle, is nominated for Best Drama Series, and actress Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth in the series is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

Based on the award-winning play (“The Audience”) by showrunner Peter Morgan, this lavish, Netflix-original drama chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times.

The 23rd annual Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on The CW network on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018.

Season 2 of the series will start streaming on Netflix Friday,  Dec. 8th.  Now set in the early 1960s, much of the drama surrounds Queen Elizabeth sending husband, Prince Philip off on a five-month tour, which is among the stresses explored in the new season.
