Netflix’s Next Original Series ‘Peaky Blinders’ Will Be Called ‘Project IV’.

Posted on the 19 February 2022 by Geetikamalik

Three of the main producers on the hit BBC show Peaky Blinders began their own production company in January 2018, that has since gone on to produce multiple hit shows for numerous channels, but it appears they’ll be bringing their next project to Netflix, based on production entries and a few other locations.

The Netflix project’s details are scarce at the moment, but given the level of the production business behind it, we thought it was worthwhile to share the news with you.

Will Gould, Matthew Read, and Frith Tiplady all worked on the smash drama Peaky Blinders, which will shortly return for its sixth season on the BBC and subsequently on Netflix worldwide. In January 2018, they established Moonage Pictures, their own production business.

Since its inception, the production firm has published various episodes, such as Sky One’s Curfew starring Sean Bean, BBC’s The Pursuit of Love (Amazon outside the UK), and Sky One’s Intergalactic.

So, let’s get started on their Netflix project, which is presently known as PROJECT IV. Don’t read too much into the project’s name; it merely refers to the company’s fourth major project. It’s also worth noting that most references to PROJECT IV previously referred to it as a pilot, implying that the program has yet to be officially picked up by Netflix.

Some production postings refer to the project as a “graphic novel adaptation” in addition to the codename. It’s unclear whether this is a comic novel from a publisher Netflix has rights to, including such Dark Horse, Millarworld, or Boom Studios, or something entirely new.

Susie Liggat will work as a producer on the film, according to ProductionWeekly. Liggat has already worked on a number of major television projects, including Giri/Haji, a BBC and Netflix co-production (that tragically did not receive a second season), PBS’s Little Women, and Amazon’s Fortitude.

We discovered that the series had been picked up in January 2022, along with some further details. “A sci-fi, time travel adaptation of a graphic novel,” we know. and that filming will now take place in April 2022 in Leeds, United Kingdom.

As per production listings and his personal page on The Agency, Paul Tomalin is on board to write. No Offense, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Torchwood, and Shameless are among Tomalin’s credits.
