Netflix Announced Today That “House Of Cards” Is Ending
Because Netflix’s PR department really got sick of everyone calling them up today to ask what they’re going to do about Kevin Spacey, they announced that House of Cards’ sixth season will also be its final season. The Hollywood Reporter says that the decision to end HoC was made months ago, but I guess there’s no better time to announce the end of a show than the day after its star was accused of creeping on a 14-year-old. Oh, Kevin, don’t lower your head in sadness over Netflix acting like they’re trying to wash their hands of you. Once the creepy smoke clears, they’ll welcome you back with a multi-million dollar deal. Just ask Woody Allen!
HoC’s final 13 episodes will premiere on Netflix in 2018. Netflix said in a statement that they’re “deeply troubled” and that the show is shooting right now, but Kevin isn’t.
“Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”
HoC’s creator Beau Willimon also released his own statement, saying he was deeply troubled (“deeply troubled” is the PR term of the year) by the allegations but he never saw or heard about Kevin Spacey do any creepy shit on or off set. That may have been Beau’s way of responding to all the stories on the internet about Kevin terrorizing young PAs.
Deadline also says that Kevin is supposed to play Gore Vidal in a Netflix movie, but that may not happen now.
Kevin’s schedule might be clearing up very soon, but he shouldn’t expect to fill it with offers to be the Grand Marshal at any gay pride parade. Pretty much no one liked Kevin’s shitty response to Anthony Rapp’s allegations. Kevin tried to get everyone to quickly forget about the allegations by coming out as gay after years of saying he would never come out, and he also said that if he hit on a 14-year-old Anthony Rapp when he was 26 years old, it was because he was drunk. My poor, sweet booze. Always taking the fall for gross pieces of trash. Bitch, I’ve been 26, I’ve been drunk and I’ve been drunk at 26, and I’ve never tried to pick up a 9th grader. A Harrison Ford poster hanging on someone’s wall at party, yes, but a 9th grader, no.
Many have shit on Kevin for his response including Zachary Quinto:

And somewhere in the Scientology bath house, John Travolta is making a mental note that if another scandal comes out about him, try not to deflect by coming out as a proud gay man.
