Nelsan Ellis Nominated for an NAACP Image Award

Nelsan Ellis Nominated for an NAACP Image AwardTrue Blood’s Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) has received some well deserved recognition, he has been nominated for a NAACP Image Award.  Nelsan has been nominated for his role in “True Blood” in the category of “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.”

Here are the nominees for this category:

* Corey Reynolds – “The Closer” (TNT)
* Ice T – “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC)
* James Pickens, Jr. – “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC)
* Nelsan Ellis – “True Blood” (HBO)
* Omar Epps – “House M.D.” (FOX)

Additionally, Nelsan’s film “The Help” in which he played the part of Henry, the waiter and included True Blood’s Anna Camp (Mrs. Steve Newlin) in the cast, received the most nominations, a total of eight.

The Image Awards honor outstanding people of color for their work in film, television, music, and literature.

The awards show will air live on Friday, Feb. 17 (8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC.
