Needlepoint is Expanding!

By Ada

While the years of 2020-21 saw lots of new needlepoint shops opening everywhere, 2022 was the year of existing needlepoint shops expanding into second locations.  Here are 4 of the new shops that I know about so far, and if I've missed one please do let me know in the Comments or email me at [email protected]

Stitch-Stash of Rehoboth Beach in Delaware stepped up to buy House of Needlepoint in Darien, CT when it came up for sale.  It is now known as Stitch-Stash Darien but has kept the staff and much else the same as the original.

Stitching Fox Needlepoint was one of the new shops I wrote about in 2021 and they have already expanded to a second location! The original shop is in Landrum, SC and the new one is in Morganton.  Check out their website and their Instagram to see more photos of both of their absolutely gorgeous shops.

Stitch Boutique of Boston & Winchester was already two locations but recently added a third when they purchased The Wellesley Needlepoint Collection. Such great news for the Boston area stitchers that Wellesley would not lose it's shop.

Needlepoint.com in Raleigh purchased Cabbage Row Needlepoint Shoppe and is now operating it in the same location under the name Needlepoint.com Charleston. Another fantastic save for both the local stitchers and the frequent travelers who made Cabbage Row a regular visit.

Such a great development for the needlepoint world, our existing shop owners stepping in to buy these older shops when their original owners were ready to retire! A great trend towards gaining shops rather than losing shops which hopefully will continue.
