நண்டு (crab) நீர்நிலையில் வாழும் ஓர் உயிரினம். நன்னீர், உவர்நீர் இரண்டிலும் வாழும் தன்மை உடையது. . மிகவும் அடர்த்தியான அசுத்தமான கடல் நீரில் கூட நண்டுகளால் தெளிவாகப் பார்க்க முடியும். முன்னாடி மட்டுமல்ல, பக்கவாட்டிலும் நடக்க வல்ல உயிரினம் நண்டு. நண்டு கடினமான ஓட்டுடன் வளர முடியாது. அதனால் ஆண்டு தோறும் ஓட்டைக் கழற்றி விடும்.
