Grand Theft Auto V and Minecraft game servers now feature playable NFTs, according to MyMetaverse and Enjin.
The first NFT collection minted on Efinity, an NFT parachain based on Polkadot, is the MyMetaverse “MetaHome” collection.
located in Sydney, Australia These are the first in-game NFTs created on Efinity through the MetaHome NFT collection, according to MyMetaverse. The NFTs can be used in all of the games offered by MyMeteverse, including the GTA 5 and Minecraft servers created by users.

MyMetaverse is a game development company that focuses on creator-led metaverses with economies based on playing and earning. It said that when the NFTs come out, they will be used in three different games in different ways.
The MetaHome NFTs can be used in different ways in each world where they are found. In Infinity Auto, a MyMetaverse GTA 5 server, they turn into a rare car. In Survival Infinity, a MyMetaverse Minecraft server, they turn into a unique sword.
It is unclear that if these NFT integrations were specially approved by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, the companies in charge of Grand Theft Auto V, or Microsoft, which owns Minecraft developer Mojang.
In response, MyMetaverse said in a statement, “To clarify, the NFTs have been minted on Efinity and can be incorporated in MyMetaverse Grand Theft Auto and Minecraft gaming servers. In Infinity Auto, a MyMetaverse Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 server, they take the form of a rare vehicle; in Survival Infinity, a MyMetaverse Minecraft server, they become a special sword. In answer to your question, they are not official integrations with Rockstar or Minecraft.”
MyMetaverse is one of the ecosystem partners that got early access to make NFTs available on Efinity. A number of projects are waiting to be added over the next few weeks. Enjin is a platform for adding NFTs to virtual worlds. It is helping to build Efinity, a parachain built on Polkadot that is meant to make NFT transactions fast and cheap.
According to the firms, the introduction of NFTs on Efinity, a scalable, decentralized, cross-chain network created to make NFTs available to everyone, is a significant step for Enjin and the subsequent Polkadot-based blockchain generations.
“We believe the most valuable NFTs will be those that have the greatest impact on people’s everyday experiences,” said Simon Kertonegoro, CEO and founder of MyMetaverse, in a statement. “With utility in three separate games, the MetaHome collection is an exploration of blockchain-enabled, cross-game interoperability. Thanks to Enjin’s toolkit, it is now the first playable NFT within the Polkadot ecosystem.”
The MetaHome collection already works in other MyMetaverse titles, like the massively multiplayer online (MMO) game Infinity Realms, as well as on the GTA 5 and Minecraft servers. Enjin’s Open Platform is used by MyMetaverse to add the MetaHome NFT collection to all of its gaming servers.
Witek Radomski, Enjin’s CTO, said in a statement, “Enjin aims to be the NFT highway connecting game studios and their users onto the blockchain. Leveraging Enjin’s comprehensive suite of tools and the scalability of the Efinity parachain, we are excited to collaborate with MyMetaverse to integrate NFTs into AAA games such as GTA 5––allowing gamers to own digital collectibles within their favorite games.”
After the official release in March, only a small number of game studios can use the Efinity development platform right now.Enjin said that Square Enix and Entropia Universe are the most recent companies to use Efinity.
They are part of an ecosystem of more than 100 game studios that are building on Efinity before it is made available to the wider development community.Enjin has also been making a blockchain explorer, a wallet, a marketplace, and a number of tools for evelopers to help Efinity grow.
