I had high expectations for this book. The blurb made it sound like a book I really wanted to read. I wasn't disappointed. The book has one crazy premise; the perfect husband and wife with the perfect family decide to take up a new hobby, only their new hobby isn't exactly painting or baking. Still, each to their own and it's good to be different sometimes. The narrator is the husband and his true identity is never known. I love suspicious, unreliable narrators and this works really well here. The book is disturbing and nasty at times but brilliantly written and everything is implied rather than told in graphic detail. My Lovely Wife is completely unexpected and offers something original than the usual run-of-the-mill thriller's.
