My Week in Photos – Feat. Snorkeling and Fluffy Creatures

By Sparklingker @sparklingker

A few months back, we booked in a snorkeling trip to see dolphins and seals for the weekend. Saturday morning, we left the house at 8.50am for our drive down to Sorrento. It took us a bit under 2 hours to get there. Google map got a little confused when we jumped on the new Peninsula Link and kept showing we were off route which was confusing us until we realised google probably hasn’t updated the new route yet.

For the first time in my life, I got to wear a wet suit. I didn’t get any photos of us actually in the water but I did take a photo of my snorkeling gear. It was a pretty scary experience for me (I’m scared of everything). But I’m so glad I mustered up the courage to jump into the water with the dolphins because it was so worth it! When I peeked down into the water, I saw the cutest bottlenose dolphin swimming right beneath me!

Next was the seals, they are smelly creatures. Kinda smells like rubbish and poo mixed together lol. Some of the seals were up on their house thingy and some were in the water swimming with us. These guys are living the life, lazing around sun-baking.

Sunday we spent the morning in Rye. I never knew the beaches there were so beautiful. The water was clear blue! There were some people going in for scuba diving. Looks fun but I’m sure it’s too scary for me.

Moonlit-Sanctuary
After lunch, we headed to Pearcedale to a place called Moonlit Sanctuary. The hubs found this place as they allow koala cuddling. He’s been dying to cuddle a koala. The wallaby’s at Moonlit Sanctuary were really friendly, especially this little feller, he’s my favorite.

I’m like one of the worst packers alive. This trip, I forgot my makeup bag so I had a naked face all weekend. I forgot my brush/comb and I didn’t pack enough clothes. I was wearing gym clothes all day Sunday but I have to admit, it was really comfortable.
