Let's face it. Some of us have a love-hate relationship with summer. And when that season comes, we try to "equip" our fridge with all the cold treats we can buy. I do that too and sometimes whip up something in the kitchen. But it should not end there.
The summer heat can be a burden especially to our skin. Besides those frozen fruits and healthy shakes, make sure to pamper your skin as well.
I have an oily skin with huge pores; not to mention, it's quite sensitive. To alleviate the stress my skin feels this summer, below are my top five must-have skin care products.
Dove Nutritive Solutions Oxygen & Nourishment Shampoo & Conditioner
Yes, this is hair care but the scalp is still part of the skin. Plus, the head is the first target of the summer sun when we walk outside.

There are two Dove shampoos here. I ran out of shampoo so I tried my sister's Dove Straight & Silky Shampoo but it doesn't work well with me. However, I love the smell. So I went to Watson's to check other Dove shampoos. Thus, I found Dove Nutritive Solutions Oxygen & Nourishment which is perfect for my hair type.
During summer, my hair becomes dry and limp. With this shampoo, my hair became nourished. You can feel the softness and bounce with every movement. To feel the maximum effect, I decided to purchase the conditioner. Both works well with my hair.
Garnier Pure Active Anti-Acne White and Belo Essentials Pore Minimizing Whitening Face Wash
My skin is oily and it becomes intense during summer. I chose Garnier's acne & oil cleansing scrub because of its gentle mciro-beads that fights 12 signs of acne and oil. I use this twice a day - morning and night leaving my skin fresh and clean.

However, I have another problem. My skin has huge pores and here is where Belo Essentials Pore Minimizing Whitening Face Wash comes in. This product is perfect for oily skin as it cleanses and tightens the pores at the same time. I also use this twice a day - afternoon and night.
Purederm Strawberry Yogurt Pack, Purederm Moisturising Cucumber Pack, and Botanical Choice Peel-Off Mask
If you want to pamper your skin while relaxing, reading a book, or eating your cold treats, face masks are perfect. I bought a couple of masks - Purederm Strawberry Yogurt Pack and Purederm Moisturising Cucumber Pack. You just need to clean your face and apply the mask onto your face. Massage gently and leave it on for five to ten minutes. Then rinse with warm water.

But if you prefer another type of mask, try Botanical Choice Deep Cleansing Peel-Off Mask with cucumber extract. Cleanse the face, apply the mask in even layer, and leave it on. When it is completely dry, gently peel the mask off.
For me, they're both fine. But if you have let's say a pimple, I would not recommend the peel-off mask. Go with the Purederm masks instead.
Meghan Purifying Pore Strips, Body Treat's Chin & Forehead Strips, and Botanical Choice Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches
Even if we cleanse our face, dirt still manages to clog our pores. If you do not have time to head to a facial spa, pore strips are always to the rescue. I have tried many pore strips in the past and I don't really mind which brand as long as it doesn't leave my skin burning.
My go-to pore strips are Meghan Purifying Pore Strips and Body Treats Chin & Forehead Strips. And while cleansing the T-zone, nose, and the chin, might as well take care of our hard-earned bags under the eyes with Botanical Choice Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches.😉
I haven't tried other dark circle reducer eye patches as I love the cooling effect this one gives my face. But if you have suggestions, I am happy to hear it.Kojie San Skin Lightening Soap
I have only been using Kojie San soap for a couple of months but I am loving the effects. They offer the classic Skin Lightening Soap which I use, Calamansi Whitening Soap which my cousins love, and more. I can't really say if it has already lightened or whitened the skin, but I am sure of one thing - it cleans the skin very well.

You know how hot and humid summer can get, right? With this soap, you'll be squeaky-clean for hours. Plus, the skin feels really smooth and soft.
And that wraps up my top five summer skin care products. How about you? Do you have a list of must-have products for summer? Care to share below?
