My Top 3 Holiday Ideas for 2019

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

Are you in the planning stages for a holiday this year? No matter how far along you are, I have some tips to help you plan the best holiday ever. Here are my top 3 holiday ideas for 2019.

1. Go on a Cruise
There are so many reasons why a cruise could be the perfect holiday for you and your family. I personally find it really hard to figure out how much money to take for a trip away, and that only becomes more complicated the more people in my travel group. Going on a cruise is a great way to make financial planning way easier, so you can just focus on relaxing and enjoying your cruise trip. Most cruises include all food and entertainment, meaning when you’re on board you don’t even have to carry your wallet around to order drinks and meals. Some cruises do not include alcoholic drinks and if you’re planning to drink quite a lot, it might be worthwhile investing in a drinks pass. There are so many different types of luxury cruises and cheaper options to suit every budget, with payment plans also available to make sure your cruise dreams can come true!

2. Head to South East Asia
There’s almost nowhere on the planet that offers as much value for money as South East Asia does. You have a few countries to choose from, but my favourites are Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. If you have a few months then you could probably visit all three, but if you’re short on time then you’re going to have to choose one or two. I would say if you’re looking for amazing beaches, then Thailand is probably where I would suggest you visit. If you want more of a cultural experience, want to see incredible ruins and the friendliest people, then head to Cambodia. If you’re more of an adventure lover, then Vietnam could be the perfect match for you. There are so many wonderful options that you might just have to plan a few trips over!

3. An Adventure Holiday
Doing fun activities is a great way to bond with your travel buddies and to push your own limits. I’m not super adventurous, but I do like to test the limits a little. There are so many fun things you can do around the world, so choosing one or two fun activities to base your trip around is a great way to get some travel ideas. If you love crazy adventures, you might want to put Queenstown, New Zealand, on your radar. Often regarded as the adventure capital of the world, you can do almost everything there: heli-skiing, bungy jumping and even white water rafting. If you have a bucket-list activity you want to do then why not create a whole trip around it. I personally really want to go on a hot air balloon ride in Turkey and I know one day I’ll get there!
