My Thoughts on the Movie September 5

By Lisaorchard @lisaorchard1

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a long week of work, writing, and running. I’m trying to keep up on all three, and it’s proving difficult with winter and illness. I’m also trying to maintain a more balanced lifestyle. So, I try at least once a week to get out and see a friend or family members.

This week, I met my sister and Mom, and we went to see the movie, September 5. We also had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. Panera. Love the Broccoli Cheese Soup. But I digress. 😉

Anyway, since I’m a real history buff, I decided I wanted to see the movie. This event happened in 1972 when I was very young, so I don’t remember it at all.

My Thoughts on the Movie September 5

My Thoughts:
The event occurred at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany. A Palestinian group of terrorists captured and held hostage the Israeli athletes and a couple of their coaches.
It showed how the ABC News Team covering the Olympics handled the situation. They were there to cover the sports angle of the Olympics, but when shooting broke out in the compounds, it became the first live broadcast terrorist event in history.

It was interesting to see the thought process behind the reporting, and the creative way they had to film the event. It didn’t touch on the politics behind the occurrence at all, so I had to do a little research when I got home. When I learned about the politics behind the situation, it made me sad. The more things change the more they stay the same. Unfortunately.

This movie gave an accurate depiction of what happened in those scary days, and I’d recommend seeing it, especially if you’re a history buff.

How about you? Have you seen any good movies you’d recommend? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
