It’s getting warmer and the skirts are finally coming out ! Maxi skirts are perfect for the end of spring/beginning of summer because they adapt well to changes in temperature, I find! This look is so fun and simple (except for the flower crown, admittedly) I feel utterly summery! The pinky-red is so intense, such a great colour that surprisingly goes well with many things.

When I buy a fun colour that’s a bit “different” I try to add few things on the same palette. Hence the purse, shoes and flower crown that go together! Sometimes, I’ll even make a necklace or a bracelet at home. It’s a great tactic especially with colourful shoes. I don’t know how many times I’ve bought some cool shoes and it just feels wrong because they stick out like a sore thumb; it’s like it hasn’t blended in with everything. Do you ever get that? Well that’s my secret solution. At risk of sounding Italian, a handbag or belt that matches really works as well. But belts can feel a bit OTT. I once had this Italian friend that would tell me with disgust in his italian accent “Elle your shoes don’t match your belt, the shoes are one colour and the belt is another!” so funny, Italians hehe.
