My Life Story have shared ‘Running Out of Heartbeats, the opening track from their forthcoming album ‘Loving You is Killing Me’ (out on 9 February).
The song – inspired by a quote from Neil Armstrong about how ‘every human has a finite number of heartbeats’ and his subsequent vow not to waste any of his – finds Jake Shillingford in feisty form as it mixes a glam rock stomp and joyous hooks with deep thoughts about love, lust and lost opportunities: ‘My heart flutters when I try to sing your song’; ‘One shot is all it takes to make it, but I’ve been running so fast I miss the chance to take it’.
