I was in Luang Prabang, Laos for a couple of days and I spent a few nights of that stay at Luang Prabang View Hotel. This luxurious and first-rate accommodation lives up to its name, along with other things I liked.
The Room
The room was spacious and luxurious, and had great views of the town below and the surrounding mountains. I could stay here for a long time.

I had a comfortable bed throughout the stay, the kind you don't want to get out of after exploring the old town and visiting Kuangsi Falls.
The room reminded me of home, because there's a lounge area where you can just chill, get a drink and/or eat snacks.
There are also chairs and a table just outside the room to sit back and enjoy the beautiful views.
For those who have to work while traveling, the room was perfect. There was a desk and table, where I can sit down and get some work done after exploring the city.
The shower, toilet, wash and bathtub area were very spacious. You can dip into the bathtub with a great view of the outdoors or watch TV while relaxing.
The room was spacious, comfortable, came with complimentary bottles of water, Coke and Sprite. The staff also came with some snacks at night, which were an excellent touch.

Facilities
Like hotels in its category, Luang Prabang View Hotel has different rooms based on function. One of the dining areas were decorated beautifully and were spacious enough for guests to freely walk around.
There are seats and tables outside for those who want to enjoy their meal and have beautiful views as their background.
The hotel also has a small gym for those who want to get a workout in during their stay. I wasn't able to use it because I spent more time exploring the town and relaxing in my room.
One of the things I liked about View Hotel is that there are a handful of places near the restaurants and reception where I can just sit down and rest. These weren't just random places, but were carefully crafted spaces that have a personality of their own.
The hotel also had its own spa where guests can get a massage, whether they just want shoulders and head or full body.
I tried the free massage during my stay, the masseuse knew what she was doing, and you can choose among varying degrees of strength from soft to hard.
The pool area is probably my favorite place outside of my room. It has beautiful views of the town and the surrounding mountains. There are a number of lounge chairs and you can order a snack or drink while hanging out there.
The pool isn't too deep, ideal for kids and families as well.
The pool area is also a good place to catch some of the best sunsets in Luang Prabang.
The facilities of View Hotel are good and complete your stay.

Dining
I only ate the buffet breakfast during my stay, but I liked the selection of food and drinks. There are dishes for everyone, whether you like rice or bread.
There is a mix of Western and Laos food, as a main dish or dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive to the needs of guests throughout.

The best hotels pay attention to the smallest of details such as staff greeting guests when they see them and asking about what they want to do, where they want to go and if they need anything. Luang Prabang View Hotel ticks these off with their good customer service. The hotel's location is far from the old town, but they offer free shuttle service to and from town at certain times of the day. They also provide free transfer to and from the airport.

Pricing
This is not a budget accommodation, meaning you have to spend to stay a couple of nights here. The prices are good value and competitive to others in its category. You get what you pay for; the facilities are good, the staff friendly and you have everything you need for your stay.
