I’ve always loved food buffets — being able to taste many different flavors. (Maybe my welcoming immigration is psychologically related.) 
One of the reasons I’ve so enjoyed cruises, with a buffet at every meal. Of course, that kind of experience has been unavailable for half a year. Indeed, I’ve lamented to my wife that food buffets may actually never return at all. Something I regard as a tragic loss to our quality of life.
Yesterday was my birthday, and she surprised me with: a brunch buffet! A lovely gourmet spread, with some of my favorites: olives, cheese, cherries, dates, cupcakes, pastries, banana bread, chocolate pudding, orange slices, and more. Everything absolutely delicious.
But not as delicious as she is — my best birthday present, every day.
