MW2 Weapon Tier List Meaning
The MW2 weapons in our tier list are divided into four tiers:
S Tier – These are the best weapons in the game and you should use them as often as possible.
A Tier – These weapons are very good and should be used often.
B Tier – These weapons are good, but in some cases there are better options.
C Tier – These weapons are simply not worth using unless you have nothing else to use.

We think these are the best weapons in Modern Warfare 2, and you should use them whenever possible. They pack a lot of firepower and are good at just about every range (except maybe submachine guns), but they excel in the weapon category and are the first choice for good reason.

SMGs (Submachine Guns) are best used for close combat, especially when you need to provide a lot of support to your teammates. The best MW2 SMG out there right now is the Lachmann Sub, which also tops our ranking of the best Modern Warfare 2 weapons.
LMG In Modern Warfare 2
The best MW2 LMG has to be RAPP H. LMGs are best for mid-range use and are good at support. Moreover, this kind of weapons can fire in bursts or fully automatic, and are best used when engaging multiple enemies. LMGs are also ideal when you need to attack enemies in cover.
Snipers In Modern Warfare 2
The MCPR-300 is one of the best sniper rifles in Modern Warfare 2. Its high damage value and long range make it ideal for long-range single-shot sniping. While this weapon can be used at close range, it is not recommended as there are better options such as the Expedite-12 Shotgun or M4 Assault Rifle.

The weapon system in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is significantly improved over its predecessor. All weapons now have a recoil mode, which means you need to balance it while firing.
