I don't think it would make much sense for me to compile this list and not mention that my favorite band of all times has released a re-issued collector's box set of all their albums, which included a new single and was paired with the announcement that a new album would follow in early 2015. I missed out on ever seeing Sleater-Kinney live, and I missed out on truly appreciating their music in my youth, when I would have needed them the most - but in a year of incredibly amazing things and loveliness, it seems serendipitous that this should also have happened.
