The Dears frontman Murray A. Lightburn has shared the video for ‘Changed My Ways’ (directed by Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene) ahead of a UK and Ireland tour to promote recent album ‘Hear Me Out’ (Firebird Records).
The song has a grand, cinematic feel with a number of orchestral elements thrown into the mix as Murray promises over acoustic strums that ‘Babe, I’ve got your number. Don’t feel so encumbered by the fear of the unknown. I’m not like the others. Never let you suffer at the hands of anyone’. Although it’s a love song that finds Murray promising to be there, no matter what, it also finds him looking back on past actions and vowing to change his ways: ‘How can you ever say that I won’t be around?’ being delivered with a tinge of sadness…
