Murderhouse – ‘HMV Tweets’ stream

‘HMV Tweets’ is the first song to be aired from Brighton emo band Murderhouse’s new self-titled EP (released via Circle House Records on 1 June). It comes ahead of a run of dates with Venn Records signings WACO.

It opens with pop-punk guitars that echo the likes of Worriers and Modern Baseball while James Hunt sings about his mental health and how difficult it can be to cope with panic attacks: ‘I talk about myself to strangers too often about my mental health’; ‘I keep telling myself it’s progress’. It has a combination of harmonies and angst-ridden shouting that give you an insight into James’s anxiety and paranoia: ‘I won’t even talk’; ‘I’ve been wishing I was dead’; ‘They won’t answer the phone. They won’t even try at all’. It’s a powerful 2 and a half minutes.

Buy the EP digitally or on cassette here.

2nd June – Private Show, Southampton
