4 tattoos and 6 piercings – that’s my current body adornment total. Gone are the days where tattoos and piercings are associated with weird people you try to avoid while walking down the street. If done well, they are such an appropriate outlet of self expression and creativity! And even better, mainstream fashion culture has started to embrace the art of multiple piercings as a valid jewelry option. So much better than the cookie cutter arm party if you ask me. Knock on wood, I’ve never had a bad experience with any of my piercings. In fact, I just got my third holes pierced a few weeks back and I can’t wait until they heal up so I cna change out the initial earring that my piercer used! I also got a surface tragus piercing several months ago and I’m happy to report that it’s healed up great!
Some tips for rocking multiple piercings as your latest fashion statement:
- Get pierced by a reputable piercer. Shouldn’t have to say this, but make sure everything they use is sterile – duh!
- Dainty studs make a statement here. Try a pair that comes as a mismatched set for example a star and moon, or different initials in each ear.
- Play around with a mix of feminine and dainty pieces with ones that have more edge. Playing around with shapes is great too! A small hoop earring paired with a dainty stud, is a great combo.
So what do ya’ll think of multiple piercings as a fashion statement? Yay or nay?
