I don't usually buy yogurt, but when I heard this new Pumpkin Spiced Latte Style "Winter Edition" was out I simply had to try it. Pumpkin Spice Latte (or PSL) has become quite a popular flavor in the U.K in recent years, partly due to the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte being advertised so heavily. So how does the flavor translate into yogurt form?
I found this 150g Muller Corner for 55p in Asda, which is gluten free and suitable for vegetarians, and is described simply as "Smooth spiced pumpkin sauce with creamy coffee flavoured yogurt".
Removing the lid revealed the pale brown yogurt on one side and the pumpkin spice sauce on the other. I started off by spooning a drizzle from the pumpkin sauce to taste by itself.
It was very sweet, so much so I didn't notice the pumpkin spice flavours. Perhaps mixing it with the yogurt would improve it...
Yes, it did!; the warm cinnamon spice flavours come through and blend well with the coffee flavor yogurt. The slight tang from the yogurt does make it all a bit odd, and the yogurt is very sweet which ruins it a bit.
Overall, this Muller Corner Pumpkin Spice Latte isn't perfect, but it's not too bad and is definitely a nice seasonal edition for the Winter. I think the flavor would work better with a thicker, less sweet yogurt though. I hope they try a Gingerbread edition next...
