The town of Glashütte is known as the birthplace of German watchmaking and is home to a number of legendary watchmakers including Mühle Glashütte. They are an iconic watch brand with a fascinating history and long tradition of precision watchmaking.

In 1869, founder Robert Mühle trained with watch manufacturer Moritz Großmann and after completing his training decided to set up his own company - Mühle Glashütte. Robert began by manufacturing precision watchmaking tools for the towns watch industry and the surrounding watchmaker’s schools. So began the companies’ dedication to precision, a passion that continues to this day. After expanding into professional marine chronometers, Mühle Glashütte began manufacturing watches.

Mühle Glashütte watches are recognisable by their simple, minimal, beautiful designs. Their focus on precision and reliability is something that has continued throughout the family’s long tradition of watchmaking.

Now on the fifth generation of watchmakers, the company is still manufacturing stunning watches in the town of Glashütte. Mühle have also continued to manufacture chronometers for cruise ships and ocean vessels. Each chronometer clock is a bespoke order and is painstakingly built by master craftsman with years of experience. Every stage of the clock making process from design to the assembly and winding of the clock is carried out by skilled watchmakers who have all attended watch making school.

Mühle Glashütte watches are renowned for their reliability and precision. Mühle Glashütte watches are all pressure tested in a number of different harsh environments and conditions to ensure each and every watch meets Mühle’s high standards. The iconic Mühle Glashütte S.A.R Rescue Timer watch is worn daily by the captain of one of Germany’s elite search and rescue ships.

The Mühle watch servicing center disassembles each watch and thoroughly cleans the individual components before testing them, making any modifications or repairs that are necessary and then putting them back together. Mühle are even able to fit larger hands to their watches to accommodate any changes in the customer’s eyesight. A Mühle watch is a watch for life.
