By now, most of us understand that facial masks can be a regular part of our beauty routine. When chosen according to skin type, need and style, they can provide a once or twice weekly benefit to all skin types. However, there are those caveats just mentioned: the skin type and the issue needing to be addressed.
Additionally, there is an ongoing debate about the differences, pros and cons and uses of wash away masks, like mud and clay masks, versus the peel off products.
The Differences It might come as surprise to many to learn that most people can safely and effectively use both styles of masks. Neither is superior to the other. Instead, it boils down to those factors we already mentioned – the type of skin you currently have and the conditions you wish to address with the mask. However, there are some fundamental differences that buyers should understand. They include:
Mud masks – These are meant to be washed away and are usually designed to decongest the skin. In other words, they are meant to open the pores and
remove any deeply embedded materials.
Peel off masks – As their name implies, these are placed on the skin and can bind to the cells. They are often used to peel away dead skin cells.
I’m continuously looking for good masks, I use them 3-4 times a week and I have tested quite few and when it comes to rejuvenating and deep cleansing the skin, I have few that are my top choice.

Sephora Collection Blue Clay Mask- Detoxifies and oxegenates: This clay type of mask, I tried the travel size which you can get 2-3 uses of it and it is great for travel as the size is pretty small and compact. I loved the scent and how fresh my skin felt when I washed it off. It is similar to Lreal Detox Brighten Clay Mask as a mud base but have different ingredients, while it does list charcoal in the ingredients the color is blue so I’m expecting the amount of charcoal is less in this clay mask, but regardless the clay materiel (Kaolin) is very invigorating and excellent for skin.
GlamGlow’s GravityMud Firming Treatment: This peel off mask changes color from white to a chrome. Once applied and left to dry for around 20 minutes, then peeled off, you can see the skin immediately tighter and have a great complexion. It is a great before going out on a date night or if you are exhausted and want to look and feel an instant rejuvenation then this mask is for you.
Both peel off and mud based, that buyers will be glad to integrate into daily and weekly skin care regimens.
