When traveling to the park as a tourist, you will find most of your activities and attractions on the two largest islands, Koh Lanta Yai and Koh Lanta Noi. How to Get to Koh Lanta National Park
Depending on where you're coming from, you can fly into one of the many airports in the area. For international flights and those looking to spend other time in Thailand, Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the airport of choice. However, many regional flights and some international connections can be coordinated through Krabi International Airport (KBV) as well.
Once you've reached your airport of choice, or if you are traveling locally, you can coordinate taxi and ferry services to reach your island of choice. Most visitors go to the southern tip of Koh Lanta Yai to start their trip.
Once on the island you can rent a scooter and reach the Mu Koh Lanta National Park with it, exploring and enjoying the amazing views on the way.
Koh Lanta National Park Entrance Fee
The Mu Koh Lanta National Park entrance fee is 200 THB for foreigners and 40 THB for Thai people. You will also have to pay an additional 20 THB for a motorbike and 30 THB for a car.
What to Do at Mu Koh Lanta National Park
How long you plan to stay at Mu Koh Lanta National Park will determine the attractions you'll be able to see. If you're in a time crunch and the park is only one of many stops on your list, you'll want to see the more famous attractions. However, if you have a few days to fill, getting off the beaten path is highly recommended.
Relaxing on the Laem Tanod Beach
Located at the headquarters of the Mu Koh Lanta National park on the southern tip of Koh Lanta Yai Island is Laem Tanod Beach. The clear waters and white sand beaches are the epitome of Thailand and give visitors a chance to kick back, relax, and just enjoy the beauty surrounding them. At Laem Tanod Beach you can also take a hike on the small circular trail wrapping around the area, stay a night in one of the bungalows, or grab a quick meal at one of the eateries nearby.
Hiking to the Tham Khao Mai Kaew Cave
On the northernmost area of the Mu Koh Lanta National Park on Koh Lanta Yai is the Tham Khao Mai Kaew Cave. This large, breathtaking beauty of a cave offers visitors a glimpse inside the geographic wonders of Thailand. Visiting the cave, you can step inside and take a tour from a local guide. However, it's important to note that you will need basic climbing skills to reach Tham Khao Mai Kaew and that this is an attraction that does require some physical endurance as climbing through the cave is not an easy task.
Camping and Snorkeling on Koh Rok Nok
If you're up for an adventure in breathtaking scenery, you don't want to miss the opportunity to experience camping on Koh Rok Nok. This Island in Mu Koh Lanta National Park is surrounded by coral, large rocks, and the clearest water you have ever seen. It is suggested to take to this area with a kayak, your snorkeling gear, and all of your best bathing suits. Thung Ye Feng Mangrove Forest
The Mangrove Forest on Koh Yai is a beautiful sea of green trees with roots that wiggle deep beneath the water. Mangroves are unique as they grow partly on land and partly in the water. Whether you take a trip down the stream in a longboat to see them or walk along a nearby path, the Thung Ye Feng Mangrove Forest is surely a site to see. And, if you take a visit to the forest while you are visiting Mu Koh Lanta National Park, you are likely to see a little bit of native wildlife as well.
Ta Noad Cape Lighthouse
Although a lighthouse might not be what you are expecting to see on the shores of southern Thailand, you will want to visit the Ta Noad Cape Lighthouse if you have the chance. The iconic lighthouse sits atop 50-foot cliffs and offers visitors a chance to take in an amazing view while grabbing a few photo-ops. Traveling up to see the Ta Noad Cape Lighthouse is a great way to take a hike for inexperienced hikers and an easy jaunt for those who are more experienced.
Khlong Chak Waterfall
If you're looking for a little adventure, get a guided tour to the Khlong Chak Waterfall located in the Mu Koh Lanta National Park. The hike to the waterfall is just wonderful. You're surrounded by pure nature and get to enjoy all the sounds and colors of an authentic jungle. Once you reach your destination, don't expect a huge Niagara Falls style waterfall. Instead, the Khlong Chak Waterfall is rather small (its size changes depending on the season) but it's still worth the trip.

Where to Stay at Mu Koh Lanta National Park
If you have the opportunity to stay overnight at Mu Koh Lanta National park, those who have traveled there will tell you to do it! There is nothing like waking to the beautiful sea views and the sound of wildlife around you. There are a few bungalows available and camping is also possible, but you'll need to plan well in advance because space is limited.
Furthermore, you can camp on many of the islands. The smaller islands are open for tourists during the high season from November 1st to May 15th and are closed for tourist safety during the rainy season from May 16th to October 31st. It is recommended that if you choose this option you are an experienced camper. You must notify the park officials in advance by calling Mu Koh Lanta National Park at (075) 660-7112.
When you travel to Mu Koh Lanta National Park, the most important thing to remember is to pack your sense of adventure. This is a place where you are going to want to take advantage of every opportunity to get dirty to experience a little bit more of the beauty the islands have in store for you.
