Verdict: Worst Town Ever
Story: Let Us Prey starts when a mysterious stranger (Cunningham) appears in a small Scottish village. PC Rachel Heggie (McIntosh) witness regular offender Caesar (Vernel) hit this stranger but the man is gone. We continue to meet the rest of the police team Warnock (Larkin), Mundie (Stanbridge) and SGT MacReady (Russell).
The Stranger seems to have the ability to show each person their deepest darkest secrets showing that they need to pay for what they have done. As the night continues people start dying and we are left to wonder what all the secrets are for each character.
Let Us Prey brings us the idea of a stranger coming to a town to collect souls, he never harms anyone along the way. I do have to wonder why this town has so many criminals but then I do wonder if this was just a different stage before heaven and hell. I do think this works well and a huge mention goes to the music that draws you in giving the story a constant feel of tension. I will say there isn’t much to the imagination and I would have like to give the potential of them having redemption
Actor Review
Liam Cunningham: Six is the mysterious stranger who remains nameless six is just the cell he ends up in. he arrives in the town with his cryptic message to everyone he meets as he exposes all of their deepest darkest secrets in a way where he makes them apologize before they go. Liam gives a good performance in this role where he adds mystery about his character all the way through.
Pollyanna McIntosh: PC Rachel Heggie is the new officers in the village who has a past of abuse, she questions every motive of both cops and criminals as the night unfolds. Pollyanna gives us a good performance in the leading role.
Bryan Larkin: PC Jack Warnock is one of the officers who works with in the village he along with his partner Mundie have their own rule book when it comes to serving justice. Bryan is just one of the supporting cast really that never really gets too much surprising about him.
Hanna Stanbridge: PC Jennifer Mundie along with Warnock will punish the criminals as they see fit, she can push him into going too far. Hanna does give us a standard supporting performance.
Support Cast: Let Us Prey has a supporting cast that are all twisted in their own way having committed certain crimes that they need to pay for.
Director Review: Brian O’Malley – Brian gives us a good concept of a film but I do think it needs something to give the people a chance to live.
Horror: Let Us Prey does have good gore for the horror but in the end is doesn’t get too involved with other angles because of all gore.
Thriller: Let Us Prey builds the tension with the music bring us to the edge of our seats but once we figure it all ends up just waiting to see how they go.
Settings: Let Us Prey keeps most of the settings inside the police station showing the characters looking isolated throughout.
Special Effects: Let Us Prey has good effects for the kills used through the film.
Suggestion: Let Us Prey is one for the horror fans to enjoy but the non-horror can easily skip it. (Horror Fans Watch)
Best Part: The music.
Worst Part: It would have been nice have innocent characters involved.
