Verdict: Mind Bending Thriller
Story: Blood Punch starts Milton (Cawthorne) waking up with a mega hangover and finding a recording he left himself while drunk out of his mind showing him cut his fingers off, only Milton still has his fingers, but he is sending him a warning.
We move to when Milton meets Skyler (Tennet) inside of a meth rehab centre, where Skyler is looking for someone to cook her meth. When Milton gets recruited Skyler breaks him out with her boyfriend Russell (Boyland).
What follows is the mind bending reality of what is real, what is a dream and what is just another trip all while Milton tries to put together the pieces his video is warning him about.
Blood Punch is a thriller that likes to keep you guessing, but instead of many films that include a time repeating film we have two people trying to solve the problem, we get plenty of issues that they try to work through without getting very far. I will say the big turn off is the over use or seemingly requirement of drugs for the storyline but that can be overlooked once the repeating starts. This will keep you guessing without getting confusing though. (7/10)
Actor Review
Milo Cawthorne: Milton is our crystal meth cook currently stuck in rehab until a beautiful lady Skyler talks him into helping build the perfect drug. The only draw back is that Milton is warning himself through a video about what happened when he follows the course of life he is taking. Milo gives a solid performance that really grows through the film. (6/10)
Olivia Tennet: Skyler is the beautiful girl that comes into Milton’s life to get him to return to his cooking ways, but when her boyfriend ends up getting out of control she has to pick a side. Olivia plays the slick character well and you feel her cold hearted side throughout. (7/10)
Ari Boyland: Russell is the drug dealer who needs a new cook and the man he wants is Milton who happens to fall in love with his girlfriend proving the working condition to become very difficult. Ari does a good job as the crazed drug dealer giving us the over the top style we needed to see. (7/10)
Support Cast: Blood Punch has a small supporting cast that you don’t see that often which includes drug dealers and users nothing else.
