Verdict: Impressive Creature Suspense Horror

Story: Under the Bed starts when Neal (Weston) returns home, picked up by his father Terry (Holden) to meet his new wife Angela (Vander) and reconnect with his brother Paulie (Griffith). We learn early on that there has been a tragedy in the house that Neal had a big hand in.

When Paulie reveals to Neal about his new struggle to sleep after spending nights in Neal’s room he finds out that he is experiencing the same issues that Neal was before he went away. As the two brothers try to get to the bottom of the creature haunting them they have to face the reality of what happened and the consequences it had on the whole family.

Under the Bed is a film I went into completely blind which work because I didn’t know what to expect. I found myself very impressed with this film because it follows the idea of building up the idea of a creature giving us only glimpses until the final act which gives the create impact. Everything on the creature side is done wonderfully. On the down side I did find both the parents very annoying and I also feel we could have got had something more from seeing what happened with their real mother. This is one I think people should watch and just enjoy.

Actor Review

Jonny Weston: Neal has returned home after spending a couple of years away from his brother, he was moved because of a family tragedy but being bought back to help his brother Paulie adjust to their new step-mother. When he discovers Paulie is experiencing the same issues he was he finds himself having to fight the same problem to help them both continue their lives. Jonny is strong in this leading role where he takes control of his own demons.

Gattlin Griffith: Paulie is the younger brother Neal who has moved into his room after he moved away. He has started to experience the same issues at night as the two must work together to solve the problem. Gattlin does a good job for the younger character in the film.

Peter Holden: Terry is the father of the two boys, he lost his wife and their mother and has remarried only to find them both acting strange not believing anything that has been happening. Peter is good in this supporting role.

Musetta Vander: Angela is the new wife to Terry and new stepmother to Neal & Paulie, she tries to make everything work but struggles to get through to Neal while everything is going on in the house. Musetta is also good in this supporting role.

Support Cast: Under the Bed has a supporting cast that all work for the film without being too important to the final outcome.
