Mount Lovcen – A high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.675 m

Mount Lovcen is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.675 m (5,495 ft) above the sea level located in the rocky region of the Dinaric Alps, and the south-western part of Montenegro. The road to the summit is very windy. It's asphalted, but pretty narrow and full of turns. The landscape changes after every curve and there are many. The road is windy, but worth doing. On the very top of the mountain there's the Njegoš's Mausoleum. It's a grand mausoleum designed by Ivan Mestrovic, who built an impressive mausoleum unlike any other in Europe. The weather on this zone is harsh and highly unpredictable and it does not take much time for the bright sun shine to change over to moderate to heavy snow fall. If you're planning on hiking, come prepared as the temperature is on average 10ºC cooler than on the coast and Lovćen's prone to sudden changes in summer.
