Good morning readers. So what is in store for today’s budget smartphone? Take a look at Motorola’s mid-range smartphone the Motorola Defy XT535, currently available at Lelong for RM499 and in Lowyat Forum RM480. It is however very important to check the details of the product and the seller before committing to a sale. The Defy XT535 was introduced by Motorola in March 2012 targeted for the mid-range segment of the smartphone market. I would expect that this phone was originally priced at RM800 to RM1000. Almost a year later, the device is sold almost a fraction of the original price.
In term of specs, the Motorola Defy XT535 sports a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A-0 AA processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM. An external memory can be expanded through a microSD up to 32GB. The screen is a 3.7-inch offering 480 x 854 pixels (~265 ppi pixel density) with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device is powered by Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system. The battery is a modest Li-Ion 1650 mAh presenting a talk time up to 9 hours. The camera is a decent 5MP(2592х1936 pixels) equipped with auto focus and LED flash. The Defy XT535 is also both rustproof and water resistance. You can check on the full specs at GSMarena website here.
These are some of the pros and cons of the device I found all over the internet:
It is a good phone, robust build with scratch resistant gorilla glass protection. All application are working smoothly and long battery life.
Down sides:
- The camera quality is poor when taking pictures in low light conditions but good in good lightings.
- Sound quality is average
- A bit difficult to connect to Wi-Fi
- Voice search is not working properly.
Up Sides:
- Beautifully built with good design and scratch resistant
- Long battery life
- Fast processor
- Budget phone, it is difficult to get a phone with this specs with this pricing (Below RM500)
- Motorola reliability
