that look
So, in case this hasn’t come up before, I am one of Amitabh Bachchan’s most loyal fans. He made a few bad choices in the early 2000s but they’re forgivable, mostly (what the hell was Boom, good sir?). Anyway, he was sick for awhile and went back home just last weekend. Not gonna lie, I sighed a sigh of relief. I know, I know, everyone gets annoyed that celebrities have thousands of overwhelmingly concerned fans while millions are suffering, unheard, unseen. I know. I feel for them, too…but this relationship with Amitabh Bachchan feels personal, even if it isn’t.
He was a big part of my childhood and too many of my favorite movies are graced with his glory. His badassery is unparalleled. Laawaris and Muqaddar ka Sikandar will always make me bawl. Amar Akbar Anthony will aaalways cheer me up. Silsila, Kabhi Kabhi, and Anand? I am ready to go on a marathon. I still watch his music videos when I’m feeling blue. If it’s not Adele, it’s “O Saathi Re” to drive the sorrow home. Yeah, that’s my emo song, don’t judge. Don’t you listen to depressing songs when you’re sad? I’m judging myself right now…maybe I need to reevaluate my coping mechanisms. Anyway, Happy Monday. Get you some Amitabh.
