Motion Sickness on the Hudson River

Motion sickness on the Hudson River

There I was, on Pier 13 in Hoboken walking back to shore when I noticed an unfamiliar boat moving out into the rive. I took a couple of photos of it and that was that. When I got back to my computer and took a look I noticed that it had a lot of large writing all over it. "How strange," I thought. "I'd never seen that before." I looked closer and noticed a URL: mymotionstudy.com. So I looked it up. It seems that a company called Vanda Pharmaceuticals is studying motion sickness, as follows:

Researchers in the United States are looking for adults who experience motion sickness for a clinical study for a new investigational medication for motion sickness. Qualified participants will be reimbursed for their time and participation.

You may qualify to join the study if you:

  • are between 18 to 75 years of age
  • experience significant motion sickness when traveling

The study duration is generally three visits consisting of a screening visit, a travel assessment, and an end of study visit.

The travel portion of the study will include a boat trip to assess your symptoms of motion sickness in this situation.
