Mothers’ Instinct (2024) Review

Alice and Celine live what looks to be a perfect life with successful husbands and sons the same age and enjoying time together. A tragic accident is about to tear all of that apart …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

With everything looking and feeling so perfect for both women and familes, we know it won’t take long for the tragedy to hit and it really doesn’t. In a rather spectatular event with Max climbing and Alice unable to stop him or warn Celine of what he was doing. Resulting in his death! As the viewer we know that Alice attempted to save the young boy and that Celine would have some doubts around the situation.

This event sparked both women going through so many emotions and resulting in arguments and even more devastating moments and events. The film explores different ways in which people deal with loss and this also applies to Theo, Alice’s son and best friend of Max who is so young to have to deal with that death.

From this point we are then left wondering just what was going to happen next and how utterly crazy it was all about to become. We cannot help but wonder who is going to be the biggest psycho quite frankly as some of the things both Celine and Alice do are a little bit crazy, although we can understand just why that is, with boundaries constantly being pushed and quite frankly couldn’t believe the direction it all went in and in particular the ending.

I felt as though the performances from both Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain were incredible, working and bouncing off each other in the best ways possible which made the film a very good watch. Even more so given the 1960s setting that we have with the incredible outfits and hairstyles they have going on!
