Mother's Day flowers for the Mrs

Whether you have only been married for a few years or more, Mother's Day is the perfect time for dad to show mum how much she is appreciated. While it's usually easy to think of ordering fresh flowers for your own mother, it's easy to forget all about spoiling your better half. While browsing and shopping for the perfect bouquet for your mother, you can take some extra time to shop for your wife or partner too. Since you share a more intimate relationship with your spouse, you have even more great flower options.

The first thing to remember is that each country has its own list of traditions and practices. Different countries celebrate this occasion in different ways and this could impact your flower choices. In most cases, Mother's Day is associated with carnations. In the US, UK, and many other countries, pink carnations are worn by those who wish to honour their mother who is still alive. If your mother has passed away, it is customary to wear a white carnation in her honour.

If your wife or partner does not particularly enjoy carnations, you still have plenty of other options. When you know that your wife likes a particular type of flower, then you cannot go wrong by sending her a bunch of her favourites. Alternatively, if you're not sure about her favourite flower but you know her favourite colour, you could send a mixed bouquet of flowers in this colour. So, if she adores pink, then you could choose a bouquet of pink roses, lilies, and perhaps a few small white filler flowers.

If none of these ideas will work for you, you could take a look around the house and figure out where she would most likely display the bouquet. Take note of the décor and colour scheme in that room. Tell your florist about the colours and ask them for their professional opinion. Your florist will be able to choose the perfect variety to make the room look even better!

Remember, one fail safe to remember is a mixed bouquet. A flower arrangement that includes various colours and several flowers is perfect when you don't know what to choose that will prove especially impressive.
