Trump claimed to be a great uniter during his presidential campaign. He has been just the opposite. Most Americans think race relations have gotten worse since Trump was elected. Instead of a uniter, he is seen as coddling white supremacists and racists -- giving them tacit approval to openly express their sick views.
The chart above reflects the results of the new Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between January 12th and 15th of a national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,289 registered voters). The margin of error for adults is 3 points, and for registered voters is 2.8 points.
