Did we feel festive eating Morrison's Christmas offering?
'Tis the season for Christmas sandwiches to liven up a boring lunchtime. A catch up with "me Julie" meant time to splash out on some sandwiches and naughty goodies (and I don't mean lingerie!).
Morrisons Turkey Lunch sandwich - turkey sandwich with stuffing, cranberry and port sauce, mayonnaise and bacon on malted bread. Christmas on a sammich. This would be tasty toasted as well. Lots of sweet-tasting cranberry sauce, however, there was something missing again to make it wow, or was it just the gloopy bread?
Keeping in the with Christmas vibe, some clementine juice. Sweet but not sickly. Good enough to drink on its own, and would be good added to some fizz for Christmas morning.
Why have one mince pie when you can have two? These mini mince pies mean that you can have two and not feel so bad. Moist mincemeat and a buttery pastry with a dainty snowflake design that is a little different from the usual.
Next, some marshmallow snowman biscuits. Shortbread-style biscuits with a layer of marshmallow on top decorated as a festive snowman. These cheery little guys were tasty. Just the thing to alongside a cuppa.
I had also bought a Cranberry and Stilton Pave, but kept it for later alongside some pate. The cranberry brought a sweet side to the savoury Stilton. I'm not a big Stilton fan, however, this wasn't too Stiltony. I'd get this again and maybe toast it for brunch.
Thumbs up for the mince pies, snowmen biscuits, cranberry and stilton bread and the Clementine juice. The sandwiches were OK but not as good as buying some nice bread and making them yourself!
TL;DR+ dinky mince pies, go on have two!
